State Border Guard Service of Ukraine
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is the central executive body responsible for protecting the country's state border and regulating entry and exit. It operates under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and is headed by a Director appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers. Since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, it has played a central role in defending Ukraine's land and maritime frontiers, including sections along the borders with Moldova and Belarus.

Russian drones strike Starokozache border crossing on Ukraine-Moldova border, killing and injuring civilians
In the night of September 9, Russian strike drones attacked the international automobile border crossing point "Starokozache" in Odesa Oblast, on the border with Moldova. The drones hit checkpoint infrastructure and surrounding areas, causing fires, civilian casualties, damage to vehicles, and a temporary suspension of border processing. Ukraine notified the Moldovan side of the incident.
