Serial production of over 5,000 long-range combat drones for Ukraine begins near Munich
A joint venture of German-American defense company Auterion and Ukrainian partner Airlogix has started serial production of more than 5,000 long-range kamikaze drones for Ukraine at a facility near Munich. The order, placed by the German government and worth around 300 million euros, is to be fulfilled by mid-2027. The drones come in two variants, including one with a range of up to 1,500 km, and use AI to resist enemy electronic countermeasures.

Ukrainian forces struck the Novatek-Ust-Luga oil-processing complex in Russia's Leningrad Oblast overnight from August 31 to September 1, hitting key refining and technological equipment and triggering a large fire. Ukraine's military intelligence reported the attack, which targeted a facility whose output is linked to Russian military use.
