Danish Air Force
The Danish Air Force (Flyvevåbnet) is the aerial warfare branch of the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Denmark. It is responsible for defending Danish airspace and supporting the army and navy with air operations. Its main operating base is Karup Air Base in Jutland, with additional units at other Danish air stations. The force operates F-16 fighters that are being phased out in favour of F-35 Lightning II aircraft, and it also flies transport aircraft, helicopters, and maritime patrol aircraft. It regularly participates in NATO air policing missions over the Baltic and the North Atlantic.
