D-30 howitzer
The D-30 is a Soviet 122 mm towed howitzer adopted by the Soviet Army in 1960. It was designed under the supervision of Fyodor Petrov at the Motovilikha Plants design bureau. Its distinctive cruciform carriage allows the gun to traverse a full 360°, a feature that has made it well suited to rapid repositioning on the battlefield. The D-30 and its many licensed variants, including the Chinese Type 54-1 and the Serbian D-30, remain in service with numerous armies around the world.
