Climate Investment Funds

The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) is an international financing mechanism established in 2008 to support clean energy and climate change projects in developing countries. It is administered jointly by the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and funded by contributions from a group of donor governments. Its programmes include the Renewable Energy Integration (REI) initiative and other efforts aimed at reducing emissions and helping countries adapt to climate impacts.
