CIF

CIF (Climate Investment Funds) is a multilateral climate finance mechanism established in 2008 to channel funding for clean energy and climate resilience in developing and middle-income countries. It is housed within the World Bank and works in partnership with regional development banks. Its programs cover renewable energy, energy efficiency, forests, and adaptation, and it is increasingly extending support to countries affected by the destruction of energy infrastructure.
