Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant
The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is a decommissioned nuclear power station in Ukraine, located near the city of Pripyat in the Kyiv Oblast. It became infamous in April 1986 when reactor number four exploded, causing the worst civil nuclear disaster in history. The plant's remaining reactors continued operating for some years afterwards, and the facility was finally shut down in December 2000.
