Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic
The Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic (Poslanecká sněmovna) is the lower house of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. It consists of 200 members elected for four-year terms by proportional representation. Together with the Senate it forms the bicameral Parliament, with authority to pass legislation, approve the state budget and exercise oversight of the government. The Chamber elects its speaker and deputy speakers from among its members and may vote no-confidence in the cabinet. Its powers are set out in the 1992 Constitution of the Czech Republic.

Czech coalition agrees to halve payments to Ukrainian refugees under Lex Ukrajina amendments
The Czech governing coalition has reached a compromise on amendments to the Lex Ukrajina bill that would roughly halve humanitarian payments to Ukrainians with temporary protection, rather than cancel them entirely. SPD, which pushed for full cancellation, accepted the deal as part of the three-party coalition. The planned savings of about 4 billion Czech crowns are already reflected in the draft budget, and the bill is expected to be voted on quickly.
