Central Election Commission of Russia

The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation is the federal body responsible for organising and conducting federal elections and referendums in Russia. It is constituted for five-year terms and consists of 15 members: five appointed by the President, five by the Federation Council, and five by the State Duma. Ella Pamfilova has served as its chairwoman for an extended period. Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the CEC has been placed under European Union and other sanctions for its role in organising votes on occupied Ukrainian territory.
