Carpathian Convention
The Carpathian Convention is a multilateral environmental treaty signed in 2003 in Kyiv under the auspices of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and entered into force in 2006. Its parties are the seven countries sharing the Carpathian mountain range: Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Serbia. The convention provides a framework for cooperation on biodiversity protection, sustainable development, cultural heritage, and cross-border policy coordination in areas such as transport, tourism, and agriculture.
