Bucha District Prosecutor's Office
The Bucha District Prosecutor's Office is a territorial prosecution body of Ukraine operating in the Bucha district of Kyiv Oblast. It falls under the Kyiv Oblast Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. Its responsibilities include supervisory oversight of pre-trial investigations, support of public prosecution in criminal cases, and representation of the state's interests in court. Since 2022 it has been involved in investigations into war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the Russian occupation of parts of Kyiv Oblast, including events in Bucha, Irpin and surrounding localities.

The resignation came against the backdrop of the NABU and SAP "Carthage" operation, which exposed an alleged criminal organization inside the Office of the Prosecutor General led by deputy department head Serhiy Kropyva.
