BRICS

BRICS is an intergovernmental organisation bringing together major emerging economies. It was formed in 2006 as an informal grouping of Brazil, Russia, India and China, expanded in 2010 with the addition of South Africa, and has since grown to include several further members. It serves as a forum for cooperation among developing countries outside the framework of Western-led institutions and holds annual summits of heads of state and government.
