Nearly 800 evacuated from occupied Olekshy during US-brokered local ceasefire
A local ceasefire in Olekshy and designated areas of Kherson Oblast enabled the delivery of humanitarian aid and the evacuation of nearly 800 people, including a 94-year-old and a child slightly over one. The operation was organized by Ukrainian and Russian human-rights officials under the mediation and coordination of US First Lady Melania Trump. Ukraine's General Staff said Russian forces also used the pause to rotate units, fortify positions, expand anti-drone protection and resupply ammunition.
