Aughinish alumina plant
The Aughinish alumina plant is the largest alumina refinery in Europe, located on Aughinish Island at the mouth of the River Shannon in County Limerick, Ireland. Operational since 1983, it is owned by Aughinish Alumina, controlled by the American company Alcoa.
