Amprion GmbH is a German transmission system operator headquartered in Dortmund. It is one of four major high-voltage grid operators in Germany, managing the transmission network across the western and southern parts of the country. The company is majority-owned by municipalities and energy utilities, including MVV Energie.

Germany's Merz visits Kyiv, announces €1.3bn support package and 15 bilateral agreements
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived in Kyiv on 4 October on an unannounced visit, where he and President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a new German support package for Ukraine worth more than €1.3 billion. The two leaders signed 15 bilateral agreements with a combined value of more than €8.5 billion, covering military, energy and drone production cooperation, and Merz used the visit to call on Vladimir Putin to stop the war.
