Air Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Air Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are a separate branch of the Ukrainian military, descended from the Soviet-era airborne formations stationed in Ukraine and reorganized after independence. Since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, its brigades have served as highly mobile assault and defensive units across multiple sectors of the front. The branch is commanded by Brigadier General Maksym Myrhorodsky and comprises several separate air assault brigades along with training units.
