Ukrainian parliament summons Kyiv mayor Klychko to report on heating-season readiness
Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada voted on October 13 to summon Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko to report to parliament on the capital's readiness for the heating season and the consequences of Russian strikes on the city's energy infrastructure. The initiative came from MP Mariana Bezuhla of the Servant of the People faction; 151 MPs voted in favor, with 8 against and 9 abstaining. Klychko rejected the accusations of disrupting the heating season as baseless, said the mayor is not responsible for air defense, and framed the summons as an attempt by central authorities to remove him and dismantle local self-government.
