Emergency blackouts in Kyiv and four regions as Russian strikes hit energy infrastructure
Emergency power cuts were imposed in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and the Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy regions following large-scale Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Generation capacity was reduced, including at nuclear power plants, while damaged networks are being restored gradually and previously published outage schedules remain suspended in affected areas.
