Russian jet-powered drones from Crimea reach Lviv and Lutsk in new long-range test, Ukrainian adviser says
Russia has launched several dozen jet-powered drones from temporarily occupied Crimea toward western Ukraine over the past several days, with four reaching the city of Lviv and others flying as far as Lutsk, according to Serhiy Beskrestnov (known as Flash), an adviser to the President of Ukraine on defense technology development. Air defenses shot down drones over Lviv Oblast on the morning of 13 October, but falling debris damaged homes and cars in the village of Murovane and in Malekhiv, where three people were injured. Beskrestnov said the Geran-4 type drones covered roughly 880 km at altitudes of 5–6 km and speeds of 320–380 km/h, suggesting Russia is studying ways to strike western Ukraine from different directions.
