SpaceX caps Starlink military service speed in Ukraine overnight, disrupting drone missions
On the night of 14 October 2025, SpaceX introduced an unannounced speed cap on its Starshield military Starlink package used by Ukraine's Armed Forces. The limit, set at about 160 km/h, caused drone links to drop mid-flight and forced several missions to be cancelled. Ukrainian officials publicly linked the move to political pressure from Washington and Elon Musk, and Warsaw's foreign minister publicly confronted Musk over it.
