Academy of Sciences
The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is a state self-governing scientific organisation founded in 1918 and based in Kyiv. It brings together the country's leading research institutes, laboratories and observatories and coordinates fundamental research in the natural, technical and social sciences. As Ukraine's highest scientific body, it operates under a president elected by its general assembly and is headquartered in a complex of buildings on the city's Volodymyrska Street.
