Zelensky confirms US warned of possible intelligence cutoff; Kyiv struck by ballistic missiles with no partner warning
President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed in an NPR interview published on October 13 that the Trump administration warned Ukraine it could halt the sharing of intelligence if Ukrainian forces continued to strike Russian oil refineries. Zelensky said the warning was delivered to his generals, not to him personally, and that as of the interview the intelligence exchange had not actually been stopped. President Donald Trump publicly denied any halt, saying on October 13 that "No, we did not stop. We are helping Ukraine." The warnings come as Kyiv was struck by Russian ballistic missiles on the evenings of October 12 and 13 without partners providing advance notice, and as SpaceX introduced speed-based restrictions on Starlink terminals used by the Ukrainian military.
