50Hertz Transmission
50Hertz Transmission is a German electricity transmission system operator responsible for the high-voltage grid in northern and eastern Germany. It is a subsidiary of Eurogrid GmbH, which is controlled by the Belgian system operator Elia Group, and operates within Germany's regulated energy market, transmitting electricity to industrial and household consumers.

Germany's Merz visits Kyiv, announces €1.3bn support package and 15 bilateral agreements
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived in Kyiv on 4 October on an unannounced visit, where he and President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a new German support package for Ukraine worth more than €1.3 billion. The two leaders signed 15 bilateral agreements with a combined value of more than €8.5 billion, covering military, energy and drone production cooperation, and Merz used the visit to call on Vladimir Putin to stop the war.
